DIY Hula Party Girl Costumes

If you've been following the Little Miss Party Team recently, you've probably seen that we've been obsessed with all things Halloween. CAN'T STOP, WON'T STOP. Until November 1st, at least...

And with this holiday comes the need for costumes. As you all know, I've recently been named "crafty Maggie," so it was up to me to come up with a fun DIY costume. We've had these metallic fringe table skirts laying around the office forever, so I figured this was the perfect way to get use out of them. The first thing that came to mind was HULA PARTY GIRLS! What a perfect spin on the traditional Hula Girl costume for a group of sparkle-loving party planners?!

Here's what you will need: metallic fringe party skirt, scissors, ribbon, large safety pins, hot glue, a pen.

The steps are super simple!

Step 1: Measure out an arm span's worth of ribbon, cut excess fringe at about 10in long, and then hot glue pieces along the ribbon center. Glue enough fringe to reach around your bust, leaving ribbon on each end for tying around.

Step 2: Use the pen to push the fringe down and secure it into the glue.

Step 3: Trim any excess fringe from the top so it is flush with the ribbon. Cut another piece of ribbon to cover the inside of the fringe. Glue it down to cover the messy parts of the fringe and allow for comfort when wearing it.

Step 5: Wearing a tube top or bralette underneath, put on the fringe top and tie the ribbon in the back.

Step 6: Take the rest of the fringe skirt (ours came sewn into this purple fabric!) and pin it in the back with a large safety pin.

Step 7: Add cute flowers or leis to complete your Hula Party Girl look!

Happy costume making!!!
