A Stylish Easter Brunch

Growing up, I always woke up on Easter morning and searched all around my house to find my basket from the Easter Bunny. Then, my brother and I would compete in an Easter Egg hunt- winner got extra chocolate and bragging rights! Before I was allowed to enjoy my treats, I went to church in my true Sunday best- usually a pastel floral pouf dress, white stockings, Mary Janes, and a straw hat. Let me tell you, these #tbt Easter pics are the most 90s thing you've ever seen. After going to mass, my family would celebrate with a delicious brunch and spend the whole day just enjoying each other's company.

This year was the FIRST time I threw my own Easter brunch. The LMP ladies plus a couple new friends (Michelle of The Brunchnista and Anne, A.K.A. Yoga Mom) came into the office to celebrate with me. We had such a great time enjoying pancakes, fresh fruit, mimosas, cupcakes and deviled eggs.

The food was beyond delicious and super simple to make. The pancakes were made using Aunt Jemima mix, stacked tall and standing with a long wooden skewer. The deviled eggs were made courtesy of Natalie using your basic mix of hard boiled eggs, mayo, and seasoning, displayed on Seri's favorite deviled egg tray. And I'm not going to lie- the cupcakes were from a box mix! I figured if I was going to spend my time on anything, it would be piping the frosting and adding candy eggs to make them look super cute. 

Once I had the menu set, I focused on decor and was lucky enough to have Natalie's helping hands to put it all together. First, we prepped a watercolor floral backdrop by painting large pieces of poster board in different colors then cutting out petal shapes. We stuck each piece on individually with tape and arranged them in a way so that it would create the perfect pop of color on our white wall.

Next, I set the table using some of our favorite items from our new Spring Party in a Box. The good vibes plates and iridescent cups paired beautifully with Seri's CB2 plates and gold cutlery. My favorite item, though, are our new blush napkins with flecks of gold foil! Not only was the tableware a mix of all the perfect spring items, but I also made custom place cards for each guest in my favorite style of floral watercolor (which you can buy on my site!) with metallic cursive for everyone's names. We broke out our DIY Gilded Easter Eggs to add a holiday themed element to the table. To display the food, we used cake stands and trays. Pro party tip: When you're working with a small table, adding height with a cake stand is a really easy way to save on space and bring dimension into the room.

Last but not least, the flowers! Of course, our flower expert Natalie helped me arrange some spring tulips, pink roses, and greenery all over the room. We used mini Oh Joy! bud vases and beautiful ceramic vases from CB2. We made an easy chandelier using pink ribbon and a hanging glass globe from Decorative Novelty which we filled with greenery and tulips. 

I have to say, as much as I miss being with my family for Easter every year, this celebration made me feel right at home. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to host my very own Easter brunch for the first time, and now I can't wait to do it again one day for family!
