For the Love of Dragons

Earlier this year, when parties were still a thing, we had the pleasure of working with a client who we absolutely love. We threw an engagement party in her home almost two years ago, and she brought us back to design her bi-annual travel-inspired party. When she told us she hosted a party every other year based on a trip she has taken, we thought, how FUN is that?!

We love when our clients have a vision to get our ideas started. In this case, our client builds their party theme around a recent trip and draws inspiration after learning about the culture, the history, and the visual aspects they love the most.

This year’s theme was around China, where they visited back in 2018. Since the party was being hosted around the time of Chinese New Year, we remained close to the traditional red, gold, and black color scheme. We used decor elements like red floral arrangements, gold dim sum platters, fans and candles to bring special details to the space.

We wanted to create a WOW moment in the dining room where we knew guests will spill out and mingle. We hung tons of lanterns from the ceiling, and in combination with the light from the chandelier it made for the perfect party ambiance.

And just to add a little more fire, we hung DRAGONS from the ceiling in the main room. According to our client, these were the biggest hit of the party, just as we expected. We were able to find traditional Chinese dancing dragons that created the most dramatic effect in the space.

And finally, you know it wouldn’t be an LMP event without some balloons. Before entering the main room with our dragons, each guest had to walk under and archway of red and gold balloons with fans and red roses as accents. Each little detail that brought this party together made it the HIT that it was! And we couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. We can’t wait until we get to design a party again in two years with a new theme!
