A 60th Birthday Adventure

In November, my mom turned the big 6-0. So in the months leading up to her birthday, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, all I knew was that I wanted to send her on a trip somewhere! You see, my mom has always been known to her friends and family as quite the traveler. She lived in Spain for an extended period of time and has been to every country in Europe - except for one…….. Portugal. So there you have it! Portugal it was! Her and I will be starting off the new decade with a trip to this beautiful country along with a stop in her beloved Spain.

Now of course I could’ve stopped there but the party planner in me said lets celebrate! So I booked a restaurant and set my theme - Travel of course!

This theme couldn’t be more fitting for my mom. I got pictures printed of her throughout her many travels and framed them all around the space.

At each place setting I bought mini suitcases that would act as place cards for each of the guests. Beside it I also printed out a few games all about the birthday girl.

Maggie also helped me design a few cute things for around the room, like this “What Was Happening in 1959?” sign along with a cute seating chart!

After going through a Pinterest spiral as one does, I decided to do a cute dessert table for all of our guest to enjoy. Angela of Making That Cake helped bring all my decor together with a beautiful cake, cupcakes, and cake pops!

For decor on this table I added a paper runner I found on Amazon along with some things I found around my house believe it or not! Like this globe, airplane, and garland.

The best part of the party was after we sang happy birthday and revealed the trip to my mom. I had Angela write all the stops on our trip onto the cake so she would know what our plans were.

The food was delicious, the games were fun, and most importantly my mom got to be showered by all her loved ones and wished a very happy 60th birthday. Happy birthday Mom! Cant wait for our trip!!
