You know you're getting old when you can say with complete honesty, that there is nothing more fun than hosting a dinner party on a Saturday night. I don't know if it's because over the years my good friends seem to be going in 1000 different directions, or because kids tend to take over our lives; but having my closest friends over WITHOUT KIDS and enjoying too much food and even more wine is my idea of the perfect evening! Seeing as Thanksgiving is around the corner, I decided to make it a "Friendsgiving" dinner party. I ordered these gorgeous menus from Tiny Prints, and quickly decided this shade of purple could be the perfect base for my tablescape. As I was scrolling around Tiny Prints site, I found these beautiful Christmas ornaments and decided to do something a little different for place cards. I got photos of all of my friends kids and created personalized ornaments for each of them for their tree this year! How insanely adorable are these? Everyone loved seeing these little smiling faces around the table :) And it was nice to send everyone home with a little something that they are sure to use! For my tableware I started with gold chargers from Target. I got these a few years ago, but you can find similar ones here. And yes, they are PLASTIC! But they look gorgeous. Although, it's clear guys don't understand things like this because that evening when my husband sat down he asked why he had two plates. HA!  I always use my basic white plates as a base, and then layer on a pretty salad or appetizer plate. These stunners are Rosanna from Layla Grace. The set of 12 comes with 4 different gold plated geometric patterns. I then layered in DIY Shibori napkins, which you can find the tutorial for here. They are SUPER easy, I promise. Lastly, gold flatware of course!!  Down the center of my table I had a white and gold runner which I topped with gold sprayed mini pumpkins, white faceted vases and white concrete candlesticks that I picked up in Target last time I was there getting paper towels. Because that's the way it goes in Target. For florals, I did a mix of dahlias, cabbages, green berries and a few carnations. Love the color combo - jewel tones are absolutely my favorite when it comes to flowers. Lastly, I used my most favorite glasses in the whole world which I actually got in Capri on my honeymoon! Handblown purple glass. I knew these would come in handy one day :) PERFECT for this soiree!  It was a really beautiful setup! Thank god I documented the 'before' setup...because when close friends get together with way too many bottles of wine, it certainly did NOT look like this afterwards !!!   Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
