A Skyline Sunset Summer Soirée
Working as an event planner has its perks- because when it comes to my own personal celebrations, the planning and design seem to come so naturally. As this was the first birthday I’ve had since The Social Society was opened, I knew I had to go all out with my tableware selections.
As I started to shop around the store, I quickly realized I simply could not choose just one color or theme. There were WAY too many cute options. So I decided, why narrow it down? I can find a way to make them all work together.
I had been seeing so many eclectic, mixed, colorful tablescapes on Pinterest lately and thought: this is finally my chance to try it out. So I chose the following plates and napkins, mix and matching each setting so everyone had a little something different.
For large dinner plates, I chose:
Cotton Candy Pink Dinner Plates
Blue Signature Cabana Stripe Plates (the light blue from my party are now sold out but these midnight blue are beautiful too!)
For the small side plates, I selected:
For napkins, I mixed it up with:
Cornflower Blue Large Napkins (the floral pattern napkins from the photos are now sold out but these work so well with the table too!)
Then, I created hand painted menus for everyone’s place setting. This was such a fun way to promote my new custom art services website, since I absolutely LOVE creating hand-painted artwork for events.
I even took a trip to the flower district in New York City and enlisted our events manager, Natalie, to help me put all the flowers together before the party.
Finally, we hired a friend of my husband, Hutson Yeatts, as our private chef. He did an incredible job preparing a dinner that was easy for him to drop off to us at this beautiful park along the water in Greenpoint so we could enjoy my birthday by the sunset.
