Rockin' around the Christmas Bar

I was recently interviewed by HuffPost for an article about the 1 Mistake to Avoid When Hosting during the Holidays. When sharing my answers on this, I realized, wow, I’m normal for feeling stressed out and overwhelmed during the holiday season. It. Is. A. LOT.

The big question is WHY? Why is this time of year more stressful than any other time of year? It’s simple. There is a lot going on. Family visiting, gifts galore, stretching the budget to make everything happen and make everyone happy, kids school is coming to a head and they have final exams and pressure to do well. It all piles up and can absolutely take a toll on any normal person. With that said, you don’t have to do it all! If hosting is not in the cards for you this year, NO problem! SAY NO! If you are going to host and you’re feeling stressed out, then keep it simple!

You don’t have to cook a huge meal or throw a big party. You can keep it small and chill by inviting a smaller guest list and setting up cocktails and charcuterie. Pop on some tunes and turn on the fireplace if you have one. Keep it tight. There’s no need to kill yourself over holiday entertaining. Remember, put yourself FIRST.

Whatever you do, take it easy and have a very Happy, Merry Holiday season! We are wishing you well, joy and peace.
