DIY Reindeer Puppet

When I had the opportunity to meet all of Seri's family in Toronto last month, I had no clue what a treat I was in for meeting her Aunti Marissa. She really is the MASTER of kids crafts. Every single craft she came up with totally cracked us up. Not to mention, completely genius ideas for kids of any age.

One of the favorites for this holiday season was the Reindeer Paper Bag Puppet.

You will need:

  • a brown paper bag
  • black, red, and various shades of brown construction paper
  • large red pom pom
  • mini green pom poms
  • white paper
  • hot glue
  • googly eyes

Step 1: Use the template provided and cut out all of the pieces.

Step 2: Take the paper bag and fold the corners underneath the flap.  Glue them down.

Step 3: Glue the brown snout onto the end of the flap.Glue a red Pom Pom onto the end of the snout.

Step 4: Glue the eyes on the flap.

Step 5: Glue the spiky hair to the top of the head on the back of the bag.

Step 6: Glue the two ears on either side of the head inside of the fold of the bag.

Step 7: Glue the mouth under the flap.

Step 8: Glue the red belt onto the front of the bag between the arms and the legs. Glue the belt buckle onto the belt.

Step 9: Glue the antlers to both sides of the head on the back of the bag.

Step 10: Glue the hooves onto the arms and legs.

Step 11: Glue the two arms to the side of the back of the bag below the flap. Glue the legs to the back of the bag at the bottom.

Step 12: Embellish the reindeer anyway you like.
