Things To Do With Your Kids Inside!

Seri has been getting a ton of messages on Instagram about ideas on what to do with her kids that is an indoor activity. With all the great content we have on our website, I thought I’d do a little round up of some creative and inexpensive ways to keep your kids entertained in the coming weeks as we await warmer weather.

ACTIVITY KITS

In response to all of your messages, Seri came up with the idea to put together some activity kits for all of you to use during your time at home. Theres an activity on there for every type of kid (we even have a kit for adults!). They are a fun treat to get your kids excited even though they are stuck inside. My personal favorites are the Snail Mail and the Puzzle Party. Click the link above to see all the different types we have in stock!

DIY Easter Eggs

Easter is less than a month away so get started with all of the spring fun by decorating some Easter eggs with your kids. This craft was so easy to do because it required such minimal supplies! All you need is: eggs, glue, tissue paper, and scissors! The kids had a blast decorating their eggs. If you want them to last until Easter, head to your local craft store and pick up a set of faux eggs that will last!

DIY GAME BOARD

A few months ago we came up this rainy day activity as a way to keep the kids entertained and have a fun snack while doing it! It is so easy to do because all you need is a large sheet of paper, markers, and a bite sized snack! The kids decided to divide up the board into 4 sections so they could play 4 different games using their snack! We did “hang fish”, tic tac toe, checkers, and a racing game which is very similar to candy land!

INDOOR GLAMPING

Once the days over…. what do you do with your kids at night to keep them entertained??? Try Glamping! We did this for a kids party a while back and it was so cute! It totally reinvents the living room or play room of your home. Set up a tee pee tent like we did or even just create a little fort for them using blankets and pillows. Then on the inside set out some snacks and fill their tent // fort with some games or put on a movie! The kids will be entertained for hours.

DIY Wrapping Paper

Have any special days coming up where the kids need to bring or give a gift? Have them make some wrapping paper in advanced so that it’s ready to go at a moments notice! When we did this DIY with the kids, it was over the holidays but other great days to do it for would be Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Teacher appreciation day, birthdays, etc. Just cut out large sheets of white or kraft paper and then set out some paints, stamps, or stickers for the kids to go crazy with!

COOKING LESSONS

Over on our youtube channel, you’ll find a ton of videos of Chef Luke and his favorite recipes. Have your kids recreate one or have them help out with preparing dinner! Helping out with meals is a fun way for kids to be engaged and feel like they are contributing! Some favorites of his are Candy Sushi, Hummus + Pita Chips, Strawberry Shortcake Milkshakes, and so much more!

GARDENING PARTY

In preparation of spring, its nice to have your kids plant some flowers that they can keep in their room, playroom, or just outside! We set up a little garden party in our office for the boys to fill with their favorite succulents. You can easily find these at your local farmers market, flower shop, or any gardening supply store. We found these super cute Dino planters at our local Target, which the kids ending up giving as gifts to their teachers, how cute! But if you want to make it more of an activity, have them decorate their pot!

TREAT DECORATING

An easy way to keep your kids entertained is to have them help decorate treats! In our Baked with Love and Cat Party in a Boxes we included a cupcake kit and cookie cutters as an activity for the kids to do. Set out a few different shades of icing (just buy white and then add food coloring to make variations in color) along with some sprinkles and your kids will have a blast seeing all the different treat designs they can make.

There you have it! A few of our favorite ideas on how to keep your kids entertained while inside. Some of these activities cost nothing at all to do and your kids will have fun for hours.
