A Rainbow First Birthday

Do you ever see something and think, that will never go out of style? That’s kind of how I feel about Rainbow themed birthday parties. They are really the most versatile party theme I can think of for any age, gender, or personality type….

So when a long time client of ours reached out to us to style her daughter’s first birthday party and wanted a rainbow theme, we were like hell yes!

This party was hosted at The Harmonie Club, which I thought this theme fit in perfectly because it really brought some life to these rooms and let our decor shine!

We focused mainly on two “wow” decor aspects: balloon art and a decadent dessert bar.

Let’s start with the dessert bar…. with a party for 70 people, you need a lot of desserts! So we really went all out here on the treats, you name it, we had it: candy, cake pops, cupcakes, chocolate covered Oreos, cookies, macarons, chocolate covered pretzels, and a cake of course! Big thanks to Angela from Making that Cake for hooking us up with these yummy treats!

I mean look at the size of this dessert table!!! Enough to feed an army.

Which leads to the next “wow” factor, our balloon backdrop. We worked with the fabulous team at La Bella Bash to create this whimsical rainbow and cloud backdrop. I really wanted this design to look dream-like, and for the colors to be a little on the non-traditional side. And let me tell you I couldn’t have been happier with the result!

Some other fun balloon pieces we had included this fabulous half rainbow installation for guests to see as soon as they walked in. Underneath that, we had a children’s book about rainbows that guests could sign a page of too. It was such a cute guest book idea!!

Next up - Monochromatic jumbo balloons with matching tails as centerpieces for each table.

Then we had mylar balloons that spelled out the birthday girl’s name.

And even a “1” balloon mosaic.

We made sure to tie in the theme in other ways as well like including rainbow birthday hats at each seats for all the guests.

And creating custom gift bags for each of the kids, that included items like a rainbow lego set, fidget bracelets, play-doh, and fun temporary tattoo set!

We really had such a blast watching this party come to life. It’s definitely going down as one of our favorites for 2021!
