Celebrating 40 in Style

Over the years we’ve done some FAB 40th birthdays. All with great themes! So today we’re rounding up all of our favorite ways to celebrate the big 4-0 in style. Take notes because these party ideas will leave you itching to start planning your own birthday celebration!

Okay…. this one is first because its one of my all time favorites. Its so simple & chic. All metallic decor, with hints of peach, and of course lots and lots of disco balls! You can easily see how we made this party come to life with just a few fun decor elements.

One of our favorite things to do with any number birthday is get giant number balloons. They really stand out in a room!

Other notable decor included these huge paper diamonds. They are so fun to add onto any surface!

Bring on the 80s!

For this party, our client wanted a low key 40th at home with her closest girlfriends. So - we set up a fabulous table scape with cheetah print accents. Our roller skate vase was clearly the center piece of the table but we couldn’t pass up on these cassette place cards either!

Once dinner was over, the girls could enjoy this fab photo booth! Complete with a cardboard cut out of the birthday girls favorite 80’s icon Patsy & Eddie.

We even had this vintage Polaroid camera loaded with film for guests to snap photos with all night long.

A Chic 40th

If you don’t have a specific theme in mind, you can never go wrong with a trendy color palette. Last summer we coordinated a birthday party for one of Seri’s best friends, Lindsey, and the pictures still have us in awe!

Of course the main focal point of the entire party with this luxe balloon garland in the center of the room.

We also had a lot of fun with flowers. We put them in all different size bud vases and added them on top of our gold drip cake.

GAME NIGHT

Everyone has that one friend in their life thats competitive and loves a good game! Consider having a game night for your next birthday party - 40th or not!

You can really have a lot of fun with the decor. For this 40th, we decided to make it really colorful and add in candy as part of decor. We especially loved these candy wrapped water bottle labels!

A FAB FALL BIRTHDAY

You can never go wrong by decorating based on the season. For this dinner party we had a lot of fun playing into the fall theme!

One of our favorite parts about this party were the spray painted pumpkins and gourds that we mixed into our table runner. Also - these sunflowers were to die for!

We completed each table setting with this chic buffalo print napkin, custom menu, and laser cut wood name cards.

PARTYING PROM STYLE

Last but certainly not least, we have our own Party Queen’s 40th! Seri shared this soiree with her hubby, Adam, so we went with this fun 80’s prom theme that they could both have fun with.

For this party, we had a lot of fun with balloons. Garlands everywhere! In our photo booth, on top of the bar, wrapped around the couches, and of course all over the cocktail tables. Can you tell how much we LOVE balloons???

You can’t have an 80’s party without fab props. We set them up all over our party space, and had a bunch in our Photo Booth area for guests to have fun with. One of our favorite props were these DIY prom sashes that said things like “Biggest Flirt” and “Best Dressed”

Another key detail of this party was that costumes were non - negotiable! All of Seri and Adam’s guests really took the theme seriously and made sure to look their very best - including their sons!
